Artists - Contemporary artist at the Naperville Cultural Center
The works of Naperville contemporary artist Valerie Lorimer will be on display at The Naperville Cultural Center from May 1 through June 18. The Opening Art Reception is Saturday, May 6 from 7-9 p.m. The opening will feature refreshments and beautiful harp music furnished by Rose Grizzell.
Valerie Lorimer is a self-taught award-winning artist whose inspiration comes from nature, architecture, music and theater. She works primarily in ink, colored pencil and graphite. Her pieces are often referred to as whimsical and spiritual.
Valerie has exhibited previously at the Sights & Sounds art exhibition in Chicago, at The Fat Bean in Naperville and the DePaul University Naperville Campus. She was recently juried into the Fountain Square Art Fair in Evanston (upcoming in June) and will also have a show in July-August at Java and Juice in Naperville. Random House UK recently purchased a piece of Valerie's artwork that will appear on a book to be published in July 2006. She is a member of the DuPage and Naperville art leagues and the Colored Pencil Society of America.
